Salt Lake Showcase Brings Premier College Hoops to Delta Center on December 13, 2025
University of Utah to Battle Mississippi State University in a Marquee Match-up in Salt Lake City
SALT LAKE CITY, UT – [9/16/25] – Salt Lake City, Utah is set up to be the top college basketball hub on December 13, 2025. Delta Center, home of the Utah Jazz (NBA) and Utah Mammoth (NHL) will be hosting the University of Utah and Mississippi State University in the Salt Lake Showcase – an elite contest, organized by Russ Potts Productions, Inc. The matchup will follow the Salt Lake Slam doubleheader event featuring Utah Valley University vs. University of California Santa Barbara and Utah State vs. Illinois State.
The Utes of the Big 12 will face off against the Bulldogs of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in what promises to be a thrilling, high-stakes game just before the holidays. With passionate fan bases and strong early-season momentum, Utah and Mississippi State will bring an electric atmosphere to Delta Center, setting the stage for a highly anticipated non-conference showdown.
“We’re excited to play Mississippi State later this year in Delta Center,” said Utah Head Coach Alex Jensen. “I think it’ll be a great event for the community and our fans. Not to mention we’ll be able to test ourselves against a well-coached SEC team as we head into the final stretch of our non-conference schedule. I want to thank everyone over at Delta Center for being great partners and allowing us to use their facility as well as those at RPPI for setting this up.”
“We look forward to competing at Delta Center against Utah this season. Having known Coach Alex Jensen personally, I can attest to the respect he’s earned in the basketball community,” said Mississippi State Head Coach, Chris Jans. “He will have his program well-prepared and competing at a high level in his inaugural season. We also appreciate RPPI and the sponsors for their commitment to making this event happen.”
The last time these two teams met on November 17th of last season at the Landers Center in Southaven, MS, Mississippi State defeated Utah 78-73 in a nailbiter performance when the Bulldogs came back from an 11-point halftime deficit. Utah will look for redemption when they host Mississippi State this December, and fans won’t want to miss this exciting rematch.
“RPPI is excited to organize and promote the Salt Lake Showcase this December,” said RPPI President, Zach Franz. “We look forward to an exciting non-conference matchup and a full slate of men’s college hoops for the passionate fans in the Salt Lake region.”
